Soap-star Spectacle Sell-out!
The much anticipated MIDSHIRE Soap and Superleague Charity Netball Challenge has proved a hit with fans with tickets selling out four days before the event. A thousand eager netball and soap fans will be treated to a first with soap stars combining with their local Superleague team all for charity.
The Coronation Street team has been coached by Thunder Director Debbie Hallas and Director of Netball Tracey Neville, and last night had their final dress rehearsal before Sunday’s big game.
Twitter fans were teased with a picture of a new recruit, but only showing the back of Brooke Vincent, they soon guessed and once again the social media platform went wild. Vincent, who pays Sophie Webster, sported the fantastic new dresses supplied by Thunder sponsor GILBERT, featuring ‘Corrie cobbles’ and the infamous street sign. The Corrie girls all then struck a pose together, again letting fans play the guessing game as to who was who from the back.
The girls were keen to add final touches to their game and practice the rolling substitutes, a rule made famous in the Fastnet version of netball, allowing players to interchange throughout the game. This is the only adaptation from the original rules, while with the new concept only two Superleague players will be allowed on the court at any one time.
So it could be down to who utilises their netball ‘professionals’ the most during the game. The soap and Superleague girls have bonded over the last few weeks with Alison King nicknaming Thunder’s wing attack Rachel Henry ‘Henners.’ King has been practising her shooting between shoots and this was showing with some great accuracy in the circle.
Excitement is growing fast and Thunder can also exclusively reveal that Cross Magic will be performing to the stars in the after party, while Make Events have signed up to add the razzmatazz!
